Fine detail with this hand-carved trunk. The inside has a nice smell of what appears camphorwood. Its been maintained very well considering the age. The beautiful Greek Keys along the edges gives it an elegant appearance. The lock is present, but the key is missing.In the 18th and 19th century, chests made from naturally fragrant camphor wood were primarily used to transport tea, porcelain, and silks from China to Europe.Like many of these trunks, there is no maker's marks.
